A Note About Vintage Wines
As you explore the mystery wine boxes from the Kaufman Wine Collection, it’s important to remember that mature wines offer a very different experience than the young wines found on most store shelves.
These bottles have spent decades evolving. Their colors may be lighter, their aromas more subtle, and their flavors more nuanced. Rather than bold fruit and power, expect elegance, complexity, and layers of character that can only develop with age.
Every bottle is unique. Factors such as storage conditions, cork integrity, serving temperature, and aeration can influence how a wine presents itself. Older wines often benefit from careful opening, gentle decanting, and a little patience in the glass.
Most importantly, these wines were not collected as investments. They were collected to be enjoyed. Whether you discover a distinguished Bordeaux, a legendary Napa Cabernet, a rare Burgundy, or a historic dessert wine, we encourage you to share it with family and friends, savor the experience, and celebrate the remarkable legacy of Larry Kaufman.
These are more than bottles of wine. They are pieces of wine history meant to be opened, enjoyed, and remembered.
Wine pick up will be at the Community Services Building located at 100 W. 10th Street, Wilmington, De. on November 18, 19 and 20. Arrangements will be made upon notification of the winning bidder.
