Littleton “Lit” Mitchell - As a civil rights pione Littleton “Lit” Mitchell - As a civil rights pioneer, Mitchell fought against racial discrimination within Delaware. Additionally, he was the first Black teacher of white children in Delaware City. He became a member of the NAACP at the young age of 13, which eventually led him years later to become the leader of the Delaware State Branch of the NAACP for 30 years.

Paulette Sullivan Moore - As the first Black femal Paulette Sullivan Moore - As the first Black female lawyer in Delaware, Moore opened up the world of law for so many people. Moore is also the first Black person to be elected to a countywide office. She is a leading domestic violence advocate who continues to shape federal policy every day.
