We were thrilled to celebrate outstanding Meals On Wheels volunteer drivers this fall. Newark Senior Center Meals On Wheels Volunteer Driver Patti Pleva, was nominated by Stefanie Thomas, Patti has been a Meals on Wheels volunteer since 2022. She delivers twice a week and likes to deliver various routes to meet different clients. She is very passionate about the clients’ wellbeing and conveys their needs and concerns to staff members. Patti picks up weekly flower donations from Trader Joe’s and cuts them into small bouquets so the client can simply put them in a cup for their enjoyment.

We were thrilled to celebrate outstanding Meals On Wheels volunteer drivers this fall. City Fare Meals On Wheels Volunteer Driver Nancy Bisson, was nominated by Dana LeNoir, and joined us at The Ultimate Tailgate. After a 45 year career in nursing, Nancy celebrated her retirement in 2019!
She saw first-hand during those years how Meals on Wheels played an important role in health and lives of her patients. Because of that experience, she knew that Meals on Wheels would be a part of her volunteer plan during retirement. Nancy delivers meals two to three days per week and enjoys connecting with the clients that she serves.

We were thrilled to celebrate outstanding Meals On Wheels volunteer drivers this fall. Meals On Wheels Lewes-Rehoboth nominated John Cikota. John is a veteran, who retired as a Transportation Executive from the US Department of Transportation, Federal Railroad Administration. John believes that we have a joint interest and a collective responsibility to support our community which demands that everyone show respect for their neighbors.

We were thrilled to celebrate outstanding Meals On

We were thrilled to celebrate outstanding Meals On Wheels volunteer drivers this fall. CHEER in Sussex county nominated the Easter seals Delaware and Maryland’s Eastern Shore volunteer group in Georgetown as Drivers of the the year: The group volunteers to deliver for CHEER’s Milton and Georgetown Meals On Wheels routes, and volunteers in the Georgetown packing kitchen 2 times a week or as needed. The group is a delight and is always willing to help in any way they can. The group leader Jay Reid, and Caroline and Nicole from the group joined us at the Beach Brunch.
